Among the prospects Clemson played host to for its March 9 junior day was this standout offensive lineman from the Palmetto State. Timberland High School (Saint Stephen, S.C.) four-star Desmond Green, a class of 2026 recruit, returned to campus with his parents and sister.

“It was an amazing visit, and I had a great time spending time with the coaches and being on the campus, getting to see more of Clemson. I think my parents enjoyed it just as much as I did."

It marked the second visit to Clemson for Green, as the 6-foot-5, 345-pounder previously traveled to Tiger Town for the Georgia Tech game this past November. The highlight of Green’s junior day visit was getting to meet Matt Luke, who was hired as the Tigers’ new offensive line coach in December. Green was also able to interact with head coach Dabo Swinney prior to Clemson’s spring practice.

“I spent most of my time with Coach Luke and Coach Swinney. Most of the time I spent with him was before practice, so he was still introducing himself and meeting with the other prospects and their families,” Green said. “Before and a little bit after practice, I was able to spend time with Coach Luke. He was basically telling me about himself, who he was and trying to get to know me better.”

Green came away extremely impressed by Luke. “Seeing how he is before practice, during practice and after practice, and getting to hear how his players think of him, I feel Luke is a great guy, not just a coach, but a great person,” Green said. “He seems passionate, energetic, a coach that pushes his players to do the absolute best they can.”

Ahead of his junior year in 2024, Green has collected offers from schools such as Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Oregon, South Carolina and Virginia Tech. “I feel Clemson stands out in my recruitment,” he said.

Green expects that his next trip to Clemson would likely be for camp this summer.

Sure hope we get him. A gamecock friend of mine seems to think he is a lock for sc, so i would love for Dabao & staff to sign him. That would be sweet win.

guess is since he’s already planning a return visit to Clemson and he spoke so highly of us that he’s definitely more than interested in the Tigers.
