I think Peake has a big year at receiver and Kearse in the secondary.

I think Peake and Kearse are good calls. I think they're both poised to have a great year. I think we could see a fantastic showing from Legget too as long as he puts in the time.
If we're talking only 1st year guys, I would look at Mackensie and Scott...though I don't think that should come as much of a surprise to anyone.

Coach Swinney says he is on schedule and that his back

problems were less severe than Kalon Davis so I think the odds are very high that we will see what he can do early next fall.

Mike Williams and Cordrea Tankersley

Williams because he's already show glimpses.
Tankersley is just too good an athlete and with a year experience and more opportunities this season I say he becomes a huge surprise and a nice building block for the future.

Cole Stoudt on offense, Jayron Kearse on defense
Feb 10, 2014, 8:03 PM

Cole is going to be the starter and people are going to be very surprised at how effective he is going to be with the first team offense We're going to win a lot of game with Cole under center.
Jayron Kearse had a lot of growing pains this past season after being literally thrown in the deep end to sink or swim after Blanks got hurt. He will mature and begin to live up to his potential this year.

Mike Williams on O (if you'd consider him breaking out).
Feb 10, 2014, 8:32 PM
|

Before this season, someone asked started a thread regarding which freshman, if any, will make an impact in their first year in the O. I'm not correct often, so I'll pat myself on the back for saying Williams. That young man has shown flashes of rediculous play. I'd go with Kearse on D. He got burned deep on a few plays last year (which you'd expect from an 18 year old), but he made a heck of a lot of good plays. I love his tenacity...the guy hits like a truck.
