2 quick fixes for our offense

No denying this season and team have been disappointing, but if our offense had executed slightly better, we be 6-1 or 7-0. 2 OT losses mean 1 made play could or would have been the difference in winning and losing. Here’s 2 quick fixes the staff could easily implement to help things. 1) Install a JUMBO PACKAGE and all its variations for short yardage situations, where we are terrible. 2) Being back the Jet Sweep with Tyler Brown or Shipley as the runner/decoy. This was a staple of our offense for years that consistently produced positive yards , but more importantly gets the defense to move their eyes and get disoriented, even if for a split second.
Again , something the coaches could implement that can make a difference instead of running the same •••• that’s not working.

There is a Jumbo package and I 'magine there's a set of WR sweeps...

but defenses have gotten a lot better against spreads, one of the reasons fewer teams go full tempo.
Clemson ran a version of a WR sweep against 'Cuse earlier in the year?

The reason any defense (whether mediocre or not) plays well against us is because our game tape is the same CRAP we’ve been running for years. High school defenses could stop us most of the time because they know what we’re going to do. Being too predictable is one of our MANY issues on offense unfortunately.

Obvious and simple implementations that could work wonders. But we’d need competency in our offense for that to happen. At this point, when we RARELY DO IT, it produces yards every time and is successful. Then, for some illogical reason, we don’t use it again the whole rest of the game. (And if so, one more time that takes too long to develop)
I’m not (and I imagine you’re not either) suggesting we overuse it. But there’s PLENTY that we could be using that would lead to yardage/scores. Common sense seems to be nonexistent in TigerTown nowadays.

There is no quick fix for this offense. That requires coaching changes and use of the portal.

1.fiver answer... the portal will fix everything.,, it won't.
I am all for it if it's a fit and no one currently on scholarship loses a scholarship in the process.
UNC brought in 7 portal players this year... still lost to UVA... USC is almost all portal players, did not help them against Utah... and on and on....

Remember that little pop pass from WVU. Yeah why don’t we do that rather than throw it 20 yards laterally to a receiver 5 yards behind LOS

Honestly, with how bad our OLine is, and Riley being from the Mike Leach tree, I’m surprised we haven’t gone with extremely wide splits to spread the front 7 out and create some space.

You’ll understand it when you can accept that Riley isn’t in charge unfortunately.

It’s three fixes not 2. All three former players for Clem now coaches have to be replace for this offense to be successful Tough thing to do butt the answer. Bet it doesn’t happen. The best way to have these changes implemented WATCH the stands. Empty seats mean no support. Ask former coaches. Former the keyword

How about more tempo to get more rhythm instead of playing all helter skelter? That might even mean players have to play more than 2 or 3 plays in a row.

I see high school offenses run layered passing routes. They struggle with having true break away or large 50/50 guys. So, they run routes at 5, 15, and 25 yards from LOS by design. I'm not a coach, but it just seems that our WR'S are always clumped up in areas. The concepts look odd to me. Zones are really effective against the Tigers because our lack of spacing makes it easier for the secondary of the other team to cross over and help. This is part of the lack of separation that I see. They play really tight coverage and if someone gets a step, someone is there because their primary responsibility is only 5 yards away. Again, I'm just rewatching some games and if you pause and look at the screen you'll see what I'm seeing.
