Ed Cunningham

Oct 21, 2012, 6:48 PM

I hope we don't have to listen to him any more this season. On Nuke's TD he keeps saying he pushed off. I'm watching it again and I still don't see it. I can't tell you how many blatant bias comments he made against us. Glad we won.

Very, Very Excited. Very, Very Proud.

Doesn't work anymore due to the delay mandated by the networks. ed even criticized the angle of our upper deck. What a jacka##

Yeah, I was hearing that Bozo too. On and on about a push off. Replays show he barely touched, brushed him and he was a hollerin'.

I thought, hummm? isn't that about the same spot of field that Rod Gardner got accused of pushing off in '01? Now that's the way it's done!

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

What was so cootish of him is when they ruled Nuk's

Oct 21, 2012, 7:04 PM

catch in the end zone incomplete, he said while replaying it over and over that it was clearly incomplete. I said BS. They'll rule it a TD. Well, they didn't. Then there was the Sammy "fumble" which was ruled down by contact on the field. I said then, if Nuk's catch wasn't a TD, then this sure ain't no fumble. They ruled the ruling on the field correct. He went off for what seemed like a half-hour. What's fair is fair, coot boy.

The definition of awesome!

Sammy did fumble, there was one angle that clearly showed

Oct 21, 2012, 7:29 PM

the ball out and his butt not down yet and Nuk never had control of the ball. It was not a TD.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nuk actually had a foot down, took two more steps and lost

Oct 21, 2012, 7:47 PM [ in reply to What was so cootish of him is when they ruled Nuk's ]

the ball after he crossed the plain trying to keep his balance.

The issue with Sammy's play was that the ref stopped the play before the strip. Sammy was not down, but the play had been called dead. Which Ed Mr Ref Boot Camp refused to point out and wouldn't let that play go. Mentioned it over and over and over. Pretty sure that's where Stuckey's tweet came from.

The blown dead play where Logan spun out and made a throw did warrant being talked about in the light that it was, imo.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You have to hold onto the ball and complete the play be it

Oct 21, 2012, 8:00 PM

in the end zone or sideline/out of bounds. Bottom line, Nuk never really had control of the ball.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Weird, cause he had control when he crossed the plain.

Oct 21, 2012, 8:20 PM

Thought that control and crossing the plain was a touch down, maybe just not in this case. Lost control trying to stay up with those awkward steps, while attempting to change hands with the ball.

Vt had a play similar to the one you're talking about, REMEMBER. And they said that VT and our guy was just hand slapping. BS, I think it was a pass to Sammy when the DB ran stride with stride with Sammy. But he had his hands in Sammy's face without looking for the ball. They said that was one of those the Reffs will let go. BS again, the reff just wasn't looking....

All of those were annoying, but his comments on Jaron Brown's catch aganst GT in the first quarter were the worst. "I don't know why there not reviewing that. It's definitely not a catch. Blah. Blah-blah." Shut up.

2 games in a row with that clown

Oct 21, 2012, 7:14 PM

He was unbearable during the GT game. I thought it couldn't get any worse, but his coverage during yesterday's game was as bad as I've ever heard in all my years of watching football. I would rather listen to Pam Ward.

On a related note, I really sincerely miss listening to Doc Walker call games. His comments about Rendrick Taylor were amazing. "That dude is a cyborg." He also said Clemson had some "fully grown werewolves" in the secondary. I never thought I would miss Jefferson Pilot games until I had to hear Ed Cunningham.

Agreed. I liked Doc Walker as well. Can't stand Mike Patrick and his constant whining and Ed Cunningham didn't have one nice thing to say about us. Glad to see I wasn't the only one who noticed it. At the end when he questioned Tajh being on the field almost drove me thru the 50 inch plasma when we came home from the game and watched the replay.

Ed Cunningham is unbearable to listen to no matter who is playing. He thinks he knows everything and criticizes every call that doesn't work. If he were as smart as he thinks he is, he would be coaching somewhere, not doing a terrible job of providing color commentary.

apparently the miami fsu refs listened to him about push offs and decided fsu would not get away with what we did. they corrected the travesties from our game.

Wonder if seeing the way that things were called encourages
