I think 1st picture shows were the subway is now located taken from about were Knickerbockers is. In the last 2 photos you can also see the tree that fell yesterday in front of the old mechanical building that is now called Godfrey Hall. In the 1938 photo it appears those trees in front of the mechanical building were only a few years old, so the range of 75 to 80 years should be on that tree. I keep hearing over 100. If you look in the first picture you can see the mechanical building betweeen the 2 downtown buildins and no trees in front of it.
