Young has national offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Iowa, LSU, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, Tennessee, Toledo, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

In 2016, he was named the Co-Public League Player of the Year and placed on the 4A All-State team as he helped his team reach the state finals.
