has been released by the Tampa Bay Buccanneers on Tuesday night. The Bucs signed defensive lineman Lawrence Sidbury to their 53-man roster.

For the season, Butler had 11 tackles in 14 games (3 starts). He has 22 career tackles with three forced fumbles in the NFL.

The 27-year old cornerback has played for the following NFL teams: Tampa Bay, San Diego, Pittsburgh, Arizona, Washington and Buffalo.

The Steelers drafted him in the fifth round (#164 overall) of the 2010 NFL draft.

The Bucs also signed defensive back Varmah Sonie to the practice squad.
