CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson Women’s Tennis Fall 2024 recruitment class has been ranked No. 9 in the nation, as The Tennis Recruiting Network announced on Monday, February 5. This class is the highest-ranked class since 2012 (No. 7), and this ties to 2016’s class (No. 9).
“What an exciting time to be a Tiger,” head coach Boomer Saia said. “Having a top 10 class with the spring still to go is a tribute to the hard work of our staff and the momentum we are building in Tigerland! We are thrilled with our current commitments, and they are all very excited to become Tigers! We continue to pound the pavement to find future Tigers who will immediately impact our program, the ACC, and the National Stage. The future is bright, and we are grateful to be a part of it!”
Boomer’s 2023 inaugural signing class was announced this past fall on National Signing Day. The class consists of Amelie Smejkalova, Artemis Aslanisvili, and Sophie Clayton. Smehkalova is ranked eight by TRN, 44 by ITF, and 13.7 on the WTN scale. Aslanisvili is ranked eighth by TRN and 125 by ITF. Clayton is ranked 258 by TRN and 22.6 on the WTN scale.
Joining us from Zlin, Czechia, Smejkalova peaked at the ITF rankings as the 30th-ranked junior in the world. This is the highest-ranked recruit for the Tigers since 2012.
Aslanisvili hails from Thessaloniki, Greece, where she has become the No. 1 tennis player in the country. Aslanisvili chose Clemson because of the opportunity to combine a top academic program with a high level of tennis experience.
“The culture, the facilities, and the overall environment will provide me with the best opportunity and certify my decision to attend,” Aslanisvill said. “Additionally, the family mindset that the tiger family has made me feel like I was home.”
Clayton, a South Carolina local, grew up a Clemson Tiger fan. Clayton was named to the All-Region team in high school (2019-2023). Additionally, she was on the All-State team for three years in a row (2020-2022). In 2023, she was also named to the North and South All-Star Selection. Academically, Clayton is a part of the National Honor Society. She received the Academic Excellence Award and is on the all-A honor roll; Clayton is also an AP Scholar.
The Tigers look forward to the rest of the 2024 season after starting 5-1 in their spring campaign. Up next, the Tigers are set to play in a doubleheader at home against Georgia Southern and College of Charleston, beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing at 4 p.m. at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.

Outstanding!!!! Congratulations. Great to see some tennis momentum.
What Dabo may have planted years ago, I think Neff has come in and expanded to all sports, men and women. All of our coaches have done an exceptional job of bringing in student athletes for the right reasons.

Dabo has been the head football coach since these young ladies were toddlers. All of our sports teams owe a debt of gratitude to Dabo for the culture, facilities, overall environment, family mindset and drawing so many into being Clemson fans.
