After more than two decades as a magistrate judge on the federal court in the Northern District of California, in San Francisco, where I presided over civil cases for all purposes including complex commercial and intellectual property, employment, civil rights, securities, antitrust, environmental and other cases, as well as served as a settlement judge, I recently moved to JAMS as a mediator, arbitrator, special master and neutral evaluator. Although I live on the west coast, I like to come to the East Coast where I have many friends (including from Princeton) and family.
