Tommy Bowden projects Clemson vs. UGA in title game

Former Clemson coach and current Fox Sports South analyst Tommy Bowden shared his thoughts on WFNZ Radio’s Primetime about the upcoming College Football Playoff matchup between Clemson and Alabama.

"If you can stop Clemson's running attack and make them one-dimensional, they got a really nice little play-action running attack by getting the quarterback involved," Bowden said. "A lot of trickery, deceit, and misdirection. They have a really good running team. If you can make them one-dimensional, challenge the throws, make Kelly Bryant really work for it with really tight talented man-to-man coverage out their on the safety, you can beat them. Nobody has been able to do that. If Alabama can do that, they are going to have a really good chance. Nobody has been able to do it."

Bowden knows that the Clemson offense has been rolling against Alabama the last two contests.

"The last two years Clemson and Alabama played, even though they have had Deshaun Watson, they have had over 1000 yards in yards of total offense," he said. "Clemson doesn't have Deshaun Watson but the defense might be as strong if not stronger. Kelly Bryant has really been a surprise."

Bowden shared that he thought Clemson is likely to make another National Championship game appearance.

"It would not surprise me at all to see Clemson-Georgia playing for the National Championship."
