ESPN ran a special last night, SEC 2024 Schedule Reveal. I must have missed the reveals for the other conferences.

Cheap content as well.
Like Eric Cartman, they can do what they want.

They're probably thinking people won't notice the other conferences were left out.
They're hoping their viewers fall for the SEC narrative that nobody else in college football really matters.
Predictive programming.

Oh, I didn't watch either. On purpose. Just found it almost comical that they listed it as a "reveal" show. As if the world was on the edge of their seats.

Noticed and thought the same thing.
It’s BS but two thoughts come to mind…
1. We need to be in that conference.
2. I was genuinely interested in the schedules with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma gonna be some good matchups next season.

It's basketball season, You really think the ACC is even thinking about the football schedule let alone have it ready in December? ROTFL!

Didnt they just take over a bigger chunk

of SEC programming this year? Like they took CBS’s mid-day spots? I don’t recall.
Regardless, it just seems like simple promotion though. Their reach of influence on the CFP and businesses they need to promote in order to earn money probably has an ethical argument. But for this, they are just trying to find programming that will generate desirable ad space. And as others have noted, it’s a reach at that.

Yes. SEC is exclusive to ESPN and ABC starting next fall. No more SEC on CBS. Look for ACC games to be mainly on ACCN I guess. Guess that's why ESPN dumped some ACC inventory to the CW too.

A network can run the programming they want to and if they have the advertisers, there is no issue.

Was the schedule release show on the mothership (ESPN) because last night my provider TV listing showed it on the SEC Network? Big Difference.
The ACC release has been on the ACC Network for the past few years.

I'm on DirectV. That was the listing on the mothership.
I suppose the intent of my original post was a little of my own reveal. ESPN bills itself as THE network for sports and sports news. ALL sports. But once the algorithm kicks in and tells the programmers who's watching and what, the focus gets a little more narrow. Which is how we do just about everything these days. Click on a news story and we're automatically force fed "news" that fits our liking. Sports programming is certainly no different.
Some will point to NIL or the transfer portal as the demise of college football as we know it. My contention is that it started long before that when conferences and teams (actually team, being Notre Dame) could negotiate their own TV contracts. After that every game became "must-see TV" and how many games of the century have we been treated to? We are the victims as well as the perpetrators of the hype machines.

ACCN will have one when the ACC schedule comes out. Usually in late January. Nice try at creating drama tho.

Please.
"creating drama" in this forum isn't even on my radar. There are others that are far better at it than I. I did float the topic out there, more to reiterate my opinion on how we receive and interpolate information these days, rather than lure someone into a trite sparring of nanny-nanny boo-boo I know more than you.

Yes but I would guarantee the ACC reveal will not be on the mother ship ESPN network however. Only on ACCN.
