If DJ sits for a series?

Is there any chance he gets mad or upset and decides to take his NIL money and potential skills back to the west coast? Remember he can transfer without sitting out right? I think we now understand why the coaches can’t or won’t sit him. I know that sounds trivial but I honestly believe that is a factor. I believe if DJ had kept the ball and ran on a few more of the RPO’s last night we may have scored two more touchdowns instead of field goals. Also if Ngata and maybe it was Williams had not dropped a couple passes we would have converted those third down conversions.

It makes no sense to do so. DJ needs the next two/three

games including the bye week to get additional comfort with the WRs.
One series is not enough to claim another QB is the answer. Don't forget, DJ was on of the highest rated QBs before he came to Clemson.

Dabo needs to sit him. If he wants to take his money and go back to the West Coast:" BYE". Oh, and what potential skills are you seeing?

DJ clearly has NFL talent we just aren’t seeing it on game day. DJ has all the potential in the World it just needs more development and we don’t have time to wait for him to develop.

It's certainly a possibility in today's college football world. I've considered this scenario and wouldn't be surprised if it happens.
In DJ's situation, if things are going your way you consider the portal, all you need is some encouragement from the coaches, in bad situations, any option sounds like a good idea, even a west coast homecoming.
As for the coaches, let's say you sit him and he leaves, then what are you left with? Be careful what you wish for... It could even be a bigger dumpster fire and a domino effect of consequences in the Swinney coaching tree.

He's played in 5 games so he loses this year whether he transfers or not. There would be no reason for him to leave in the middle of the year. Even though, I would like to see Taisun get a couple of series. I'd be surprised if he did well enough to take much playing time from DJ. I expect our best case scenario to be that TP does well and we develop some sets to use him in for certain situations, but I think that he deserves the shot.
I don't think that DJ is scared of the competition. I believe that he will be fine as long as he is getting a fair shake, and I have no doubt that he would. I'll be surprised if DJ becomes the all star that many projected him to be, but I will be even more surprised if he doesn't improve and become a pretty good QB.

please educate us so we know why that would be a great coaching move.

So everybody seems to think it’s a conspiracy by the coaches to keep TP7 on the sidelines. Let’s say he gets a series or two - what kind of plays do you think this OC would call for him if they were favoring DJ? Same old crap handoffs up the middle and a few sideways passes is all they would give him to keep DJ looking like the starter. Personally I think the miraculous recovery by Taisun is a bit overstated and he’s probably only about 80%. Maybe since the next game will be mid October he will have had another month and a half since the season started to get really healthy and he’ll be about 90% recovered then. Coaches may be more willing to play him at 90% than 80%.

Exactly my thoughts. Or at least I'm curious. He was cleared but how clear is 'cleared'? 50%? 80% How much of his conditioning has he been able to do? How much of the playbook does he have time running live in practice since August with the WRs, TEs, RBs and O-line? Sometimes everything isn't as "plug n play" as we may think it is.
I'm not happy with our offensive production - it is truly offensive lol. But these coaches know something we don't. 6 straight CFPs - I'm not ready to clean house on all of them just yet.

No idea why everyone thinks this is so odd. This used to happen regularly when qbs needed to settle down. What is wrong with having a minute if your head is not on straight. Nothing at all.
