PJ Hall is the obvious main guy with NBA attention
But I can honestly see more than one of our players succeeding in the NBA.
If Girard can find a permanent consistency with shooting, he can be a deadly guard in the NBA. He is small, but that obviously doesn’t matter these days.
I think Ian Scheffelin really should get some looks from scouts. His stamina is very good. His height isn’t quite there to be a center, but his strength would give him leeway.
Really nobody else, yet, but I could see those 2 others besides PJ getting workouts after this season.

Our best NBA prospect is Chauncey Wiggins.

He obviously isn’t ready now, but he has the size, athleticism, and range the NBA covets.
Schieffelin might catch on as an energy guy for rebounds, defense, hustle, etc. This is especially true if he keeps shooting the ball so well from outside.
PJ might make an NBA team, but G League or Europe seem more likely to me long-term. Same for Girard. Both are great players, but not exactly what the NBA is looking for these days.

I’m referring to performance on the court, and production.
I like Wiggins’ presence on the court, and don’t get me wrong he’s shown some good qualities. But I haven’t seen anything that signifies an NBA future.
If you want to discuss size and body build, we have multiple players that fit the NBA description. Chase Hunter is exactly the height you’re looking for in regards to an NBA point guard. RJ Godfrey is extremely athletic with an athletic build, but he doesn’t seem to have that professional flow to his game. Jack Clark is also athletic and a potential playmaker based off his physical abilities.
Often times though, Brad will underdevelop these players in my opinion. There have been some absolute NBA talents come through, very very good athletes and players. McDaniels, Blossomgame, Elijah Thomas, Olivier Maxence Prosper, and more.
Yeah he’s got us winning decently right now, but he’s not there yet and there’s still bad loss opportunities left. I don’t care what that Lunardi or anybody says, Brad’s screwed it up so many times. That’s another thing, you always talk about lower financial resources put into Clemson basketball, but yet we are consistently on the bubble in February. That shows we are capable, but are getting it done.
Maxence Prosper may be the absolute perfect answer to Brad’s main issue in his tenure. I know you know that he transferred to Shaka Smart at Marquette. Shaka Smart in my opinion should’ve gotten a call from Clemson when Smart was at VCU. That was in like 2014 or so, when basketball was at an all-time low. But, we continued with Brad. And Shaka Smart has been what he is. Texas and Marquette.
Point is, Shaka Smart developed a secondary Clemson basketball player into a first round pick in one year of eligibility with him. I don’t event think Prosper played more than 5 games at Clemson. Brad couldn’t coach him, or he just benched a future 1st round pick.
I’d like to see you explain your way out of that one. There is an obvious difference in Smart and Brownell.
How good do you think Brad is? Like what level or tier in the ACC, or in the country?

1. Shaka smart failed at texas.
2. Omax played 1 year here and was on an ncaa tourney team. He got the minutes he deserved. He was 11th on the team in minutes played per game. He was also 10th in FG %, 10th in 3pt %, 11th in FT %, 8th in rebounding efficiency, and 10th in points per 40 minutes played. He did not deserve more time on the floor. His next year at marquette he only averaged 6.6 points per game, and was 6th on their team in most stats i mentioned above. His 3rd year in college he was his team's 3rd best player and he still wasnt on any mock drafts. It wasnt until the combine that he wowed with his athleticism and he started to get noticed more.
3. Kj mcdaniels was drafted 32nd overall and did play in the nba. Jaron blossomgame was drafted. Elijah thomas was 6'9 and undersized to play center in the nba. I would love to hear about "more" of these players you are talking about.
4. You dont know what you are talking about.

The problem with your post is that performance on the court in college

is only a small part of what NBA scouts look for.
As you know, there are plenty of players who had great careers in college but were not built for the NBA game.
My assessment above is based on what I think professional teams will prioritize.
I think Brad and his staff do a great job with player development. There are numerous examples of guys improving considerably over the course of their Clemson careers. PJ Hall is one such example.
The fact that we have been so competitive under Brownell is a testament to his coaching. I think he does a great job and I look forward to us being in the NCAA Tournament this year.

And this goes to show why you cannot show how bitter you are about Brownell. Once I showed my emotion about Brad, everyone chooses to bash me
I don’t care if anybody thinks I’m right or wrong, the fact of the matter is Brad has not produced one good NBA player.
Judge, everyone sided with you, even though this was our debate.
But I can’t really see how people switch up so quick to bash someone. 90% disagrees with Brad, every one of these people in this thread. I know they know what I mean.
Brad hasn’t produced the amount of success that he is CAPABLE of, and he hasn’t produced one single player in the NBA that is at least decent.
The fact that we are on the bubble every year shows we are capable of being in it every single year, but guess what? We lose to Louisville, we lose in the ACCT, etc etc.
To the others trying to discuss Maxence Prosper and McDaniels and so forth, again you can talk all you want but I still don’t see a player from Brad playing well in the NBA.
Shaka Smart is a better coach than Brownell. Please whoever tried to refute this, just stop. Just take a look at the track record.
I don’t know why y’all hate me for saying all this lol. You are going to be the ones to get on here and post sneaky slander about Brownell whenever he loses one more game.
I just firmly believe this program could’ve been farther along by now. I guess it sucks to see it that way because it’s so da** negative.
Brad will be here until he retires. I guess Neff has decided Clemson basketball is okay to stay at an average level forever.

You started this thread touting our roster and saying that you felt we had multiple NBA guys. Now you’ve transitioned to bashing our coach and what you feel is a lack of player development.
Weird.

I have noticed the bad timing of this rant, as positive momentum is occurring.
It’s a reasonable discussion to have , though it’s at the wrong time

Agreed. Wiggins is the best NBA prospect we have. He just needs to continue to improve his body and be more assertive on both ends.

Thinking girard is a euro league guy. Not sure he will be able to guard either guard position in the nba. He will be great overseas.
Hall will be drafted, although he has been hurting his stock with his 3 point shooting. He was great last year at nearly 40% from 3. He will be expected to shoot the 3 in the NBA. It would be awesome if we could lure him to stay another year with NIL money.
I think scheiff will get some looks. Also love RJ Godfrey and his ceiling his last 2 years at clemson. Chauncey has fantastic size and athleticism to play in the nba. He needs to hit the weight room, get better at rebounding, and more consistent with his shooting.

I think teams in the NBA like you to play at least some semblance of defense.

That alone would probably knock Girard out of the running.

Girard can be a deadly guard in the NBA?

You never know how they develop. As of now only Hall has that potential on the surface Wiggins might keep developing though. Europe? Ian wouldnt get many shot off in the nba and would have trouble rebounding there. He would give it 100% though. He might have a great career in Europe though. Thats not some junk life bringing in maybe 30 million before he his 35. Girard has zero chance in the NBA. Abroad maybe...somewhere probably. He would never get a shot off and would be a defensive liability. Hall is obviously our best chance. I would love for some miracle of Hall returnimg to work on his 3.

Did Donte Grantham ever get a shot playing pro ball after the knee injury? Also, is Simms still playing in the G league?

Hall will get drafted and sit like Tyson does. If PJ could shoot 50% from 3 he might play. Nobody else has a prayer especially Wiggins. They’ll play in Europe or similar at best. Isaiah Wong was a great player at Miami and has played about 2 mins all year with Pacers.

He was mostly in the G League, and was later with the LA Clippers' G League team. Since then he has played professionally in France, and is currently playing professionally in England.
Aamir was with the Knicks' G League team in Westchester for a couple of years, but has since been with a professional team in France.
