There is no logical reason to retain Brad . None. Best team Brad has had. Lost to horrible team last year in NIT (along with 3 other really embarrassing losses). Lost 3 of 4 during crunch time.
Brad Lost last night to a bad team (by 21). BC only beat one other team all year by 20+ - and they (Holy Cross) finished next to last in the Patriot League. BC beat Citadel by 4.
So, the Brad fans will argue - Brad is the winningest Clemson coach. Rebut - also most losses. Who would we get better? Rebut - does it matter? What is there to lose? Oh god - we might lose to horrible teams (oh wait, that’s what Brad does.) But he made it to the dance. Rebut - how often? First one was Purnell team. But our history has been poor. Rebut - first, the ACC is now a shadow of what it was when we had some really good teams. Second - so what? We should be happy finishing in the middle of the poor ACC?
Clemson has upgraded facilities, increased coaching dollars, etc - yet Brad still cannot get his best team to win the ACC tournament game when the stars were perfect. We played a bad BC team. Win and we would have played a UVA team that is playing horrible basketball.uva lost by 20 to ND. 16 to nc state. 20 to wake. 34 to VT. 25 to Duke. How much a better draw could we pray for?
14 years, we know what Brad is - we also know what he is not.
Try someone new. If they fail - well, at least we tried something different. I can live with that.
