Recruiting has started off very strong for Clemson. The staff has secured 11 verbal commitments, which is half of what they will sign in February. One area where the staff is still looking to address is the offensive line.
The staff wants to sign two offensive tackles in this class. While Clifton Geathers and Lee Tilley are probably atop the wish list, Jamal Medlin remains under evaluation. Medlin is drawing interest from both in-state schools, but neither have offered. Medlin has good size, but he is very raw. He has good upside, but he is not a player that is going to make an impact. The staff will likely get a close look at Medlin at the North-South or the Shrine Bowl this year depending on his senior season. It is not likely, they will make the trip down to Orangeburg for a game. Medlin made the cut ahead of Jake Johnson and Josh Harrison, both of whom Clemson is no longer recruiting. We will track Medlin this season, as he remains on the watch list heading into the final week of August. Medlin is being recruited by Burton Burns.
