Clemson Announces 2002 Baseball Signees

Class rated fifth best in the nation according to Collegiate Baseball.

Clemson, SC - Clemson Head Baseball Coach Jack Leggett announced the signing of 16 players that have already joined the Tiger squad and will be eligible to play for the Tigers in 2003. The list includes four players that were drafted in 2002 and two that were drafted in 2001. The class was rated fifth best in the nation according to Collegiate Baseball and seventh best by Baseball America.

The players that were drafted include righthander and utility player Kris Harvey, son of former Major Leaguer Bryan Harvey. The younger Harvey and Catawba, NC native was drafted in the fifth round by the Braves. Righty Pat Clayton was also drafted by the Braves (in the seventh round). Infielder Brad McCann (22nd-round selection by the Phillies) and lefthander Robert Rohrbaugh (30th-round pick by the Expos) were also drafted in 2002.

Two Tiger newcomers from Edmonds Community College in Edmonds, WA were drafted in 2001. Righthander Aaron Trolia (31st-round pick by the Reds) and catcher Brady Everett (44th-round pick by the Royals) round out Clemson's six 2002 signees who have been drafted.
