Week two of action for Clemson football’s 2018 commits featured some outstanding offensive and defensive showcases.

Check out the latest highlights from future Tigers:

Derion Kendrick – 4-star South Pointe (SC) WR prospect

Kendrick executed to perfection as South Pointe’s quarterback in a 53-0 win over Nation Ford, where he connected on a number of deep throws going 18-of-18 for 342 yards and four touchdowns. Kendrick added a rushing score to bring his total to six touchdowns on the season. He’s completed 84.4 percent of his pass attempts through two games.

Xavier Thomas – 5-star IMG Academy (Fla.) DE

Thomas showcased all five stars in his rating in IMG Academy’s ESPNU-televised top-10 national showdown at Chandler (Az.). The South Carolina product earned MVP honors in his season debut, totaling two pass breakups, four tackles and five quarterback hurries – one that knocked Chandler quarterback Jacob Conover out of the game (second video below).

(Thomas is No. 19; Jones Jr. is No. 24 in video)

Darnell Jefferies – 3-star Newton (GA) DT

The 6-foot-3 and 275-pound defender posted nine tackles, five tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks in a 41-0 Newton win over Eastside (Ga.). He even added a 20-yard catch. On the season, Jefferies has totaled 6.5 sacks and eight tackles for loss.

Trevor Lawrence – 5-star Cartersville (GA) QB

Lawrence thrived under the spotlight of a national stage to the tune of 403 passing yards and four touchdowns in Cartersville holding off a Bartram Trail (Fla.) rally, 52-45. Four of those touchdowns passes came in the first three quarters, where he started 13-of-15 passing for 290 yards. The 5-star prospect has connected on 75.6 percent of his passes with six touchdowns to one interception on the season.

Kyler McMichael – 4-star Greater Atlanta Christian CB prospect

McMichael continued a strong start in the backfield with a touchdown and 78 rushing yards on 12 carries in a 41-7 win over fellow top-10 3A opponent Westminster (Ga.). McMichael is averaging 6.3 yards per carry through two games.

Braden Galloway – 3-star Seneca (SC) TE prospect

A promising start as Seneca’s quarterback hit a bump in the road Friday night in a 56-14 loss to Chapman, where a foot injury sustained on a long run will keep him out for 4-6 weeks. Before his exit, Galloway threw his second touchdown pass of the season, a 40-yarder. Galloway posted four total touchdowns (one rushing and one receiving each as well) in a game-plus so far.

Justin Mascoll – 4-star South Gwinnett (GA) DE

Mascoll did his part in to get South Gwinnett in the win column versus Lanier (Ga.). The 6-foot-4 defensive end totaled a sack, tackle for loss and a couple more QB hurries in the 17-7 decision. Mascoll also cleared the way on a goal line block for a touchdown. Mascoll is up to two sacks and three tackles for loss, a forced fumble and seven quarterback hurries on the year.

Mike Jones Jr. – 4-star IMG Academy (Fla.) OLB

Jones Jr. excelled in coverage versus the pass-happy Chandler offense, breaking up three attempts.

Jake Venables – 4-star Daniel (SC) OLB

Venables added his third and fourth tackles for loss of his senior campaign – including a sack – in a 31-12 loss to Easley. He totaled six stops and a QB hurry as well.

B.T. Potter – 3-star South Pointe (SC) K

Potter knocked through two 45-yard field goal attempts comfortably in South Pointe’s blowout win over Nation Ford.

Josh Belk – 3-star Lewisville (SC) DT

Belk’s Lewisville Lions improved to 2-0 with another strong defensive effort in an 18-16 win over Blacksburg.
