Four-star Myers Park High School (N.C.) quarterback Drake Maye has a Clemson offer after working out at Dabo Swinney camp recently, his hometown newspaper the Charlotte Observer announced Saturday.

Maye is ranked the No. 5 pro-style quarterback in the nation and held offers going into camp from Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, NC State and more Power 5 programs.

He comes from a Tar Heel lineage with his father, Mark, and brother, Luke, former UNC athletes. He told the Charlotte Observer recently that the Tar Heels are right there with the host of schools after him.

“I wouldn’t say (UNC is in the lead). Carolina is there with everyone else. I just want to enjoy the process," Maye said.

Maye held a 65 completion percentage with 3,200 passing yards and 36 touchdowns to five interceptions last season.

Camp evaluation: "Maye is, of course, the son of former UNC quarterback Mark Maye and the younger brother of Tar Heel basketball star Luke Maye. Mark Maye has known Clemson tight end’s coach Danny Pearman since childhood and spent time talking with this old friend as camp got underway.

Drake has a smooth motion, and he’s accurate to most points on the football field. You would think he’s a lean to UNC considering the legacy, but you never know what can happen in recruiting." - David Hood.
