3-star Baton Rouge, Louisiana linebacker Bryton Constantin committed to Clemson while back on campus for a two-day visit. Constantin first visited for Junior Day in early March after a February offer.

Constantin posted on social media about his reasons for choosing Clemson.

"I want to start by saying thank you to God for blessing me with this gift to play the game of football," Constantin posted on Twitter. "Also I want to thank my family because without them I would not be able to make this life-changing decision. Finally, I would love to thank Coach Venables for believing in me, doing a phenomenal job recruiting me and seeing the man that I can become one day. I've always said, "When I feel like the time is right then I'll make a decision" and right now the time feels right. I cannot thank GOD enough. With all of that being said I am excited to be 100% committed to Clemson University. Respect my decision."

Constantin is rated as high as a top-20 player in his state, but after a standout Adidas camp performance this offseason, he is slated to make a move up in the star rankings soon.

He had narrowed down his top schools to eight in March, also including Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, TCU and Houston.

“Coach (Dabo) Swinney is a real respectable man,” Constantin said after a March Clemson visit. “I had a great visit with Coach (Brent) Venables. I was expecting to have a good time and that's what I had. They really showed me everything about academics and how they have fun up there, just everything outside of football as well.

“Everything about the school set a light bulb off in my head. Plus, take into consideration they are one of the top schools in the nation.”

In the shadow of LSU at University Lab, Constantin helped lead a state championship effort with 104 tackles, 23 for loss, and six sacks.

"They (LSU) haven't even offered me. I feel like they will but I just don't think LSU will be a good fit for me," Constantin told TigerNet in March. "I want to get out of the state as well. LSU is going to be recruiting me really late and they are going to be late to the party. I just don't see myself fitting in too well over there. But I would definitely take it (an offer) into consideration, I wouldn't just overlook it."

Constantin joins 4-star Milton High School (Ga.) safety Joseph Charleston in Clemson’s 2019 class, in addition to 3-star Riverdale (Ga.) TE Jaelyn Lay, 3-star Calhoun (Ga.) WR Brannon Spector and IMG Academy (Fla.) punter Aidan Swanson.
