WATCH: Swinney discusses his talented defensive line

by - Assoc. Editor -

Video Description: Clemson's Dabo Swinney got an early Christmas gift when his three stud defensive linemen decided to return to school. Christian Wilkins, Clelin Ferrell and Austin Bryant join Dexter Lawrence to form what could be one of the greatest defensive lines college football has witnessed. Swinney talks about his surprise at their return, in addition to his expectations for Lawrence and fellow defensive tackle Albert Huggins. He also explains that this group came back to get better and will be looking to finish with no regrets.

"Anytime you know you are getting a great player coming back as a coach, that's a great feeling to know that you got a guy that is committed, experienced, and very talented," Swinney said in the video. "To know you got him for a while longer is always a good feeling especially on the defensive line. It was great (returning of senior DLs). I didn't know how many would come back as there were three guys with the ability to leave if they wanted to. I didn't think that all three would be back but as it comes out, that's what they wanted to do and it's exciting."

Swinney said don't forget about a healthy Dexter Lawrence could do for his defense.

"I thought they were special last year and they were really good. Getting Dexter (Lawrence) back really healthy is gonna help us."
