Former Clemson hall-of-fame coach Jack Leggett was a two-sport standout (baseball, football) for the Maine Bears in 1973-1976.
Leggett is Maine's only three-time first-team all-conference selection at football (defensive back and kicker). He still holds the school record for longest field goal when he booted a 52-yarder against Delaware in 1975. In baseball, he was the team-captain (four year letterman) and helped lead the 1976 Maine Bears to the College World Series for the second time in its history. courtesy: gridirongarb blog
