Syracuse QB on beating cancer: "felt like beating Clemson"

by - Assoc. Editor -

Exceptional news to report as Syracuse redshirt sophomore quarterback Rex Culpepper is cancer-free from his recent chemo battle with testicular cancer.

Culpepper spoke to reporters on Friday and was on an emotional high as he compared his feelings of the cancer-free news to when his football team upset Clemson 27-24 last season.

"Walking down the hallway and seeing all the nurses that have been with my for so many hours and gone through so much with me," Culpepper said. "Seeing me walk out of there and ring that bell, I can't even put it into words. The closest thing I can say is it felt like beating Clemson. You just feel so incredibly accomplished and so ecstatic that nothing in your life could ever go wrong. That was the closest thing that I could compare it to."

Congratulations to Culpepper on the cancer-free news and continued great health from everyone at TigerNet.com.
