Swinney on the QBs: "Play more than one guy probably a lot" |
Clemson coach
Dabo Swinney appeared on the Rich Eisen Show on Tuesday and talked about various subjects including the competition at quarterback.
"We got some guys man," Swinney said excitedly. "We are in a unique situation. Obviously, we have the guy back that won 12 games and took us to the playoffs in his very first year starting. He is much much improved from where he was last time this year as a guy going into his first year of play." Swinney said that they have talented signal-callers Trevor Lawrence and Chase Brice pushing Bryant every day in practice. "We have gone out and recruited a couple very gifted players," he said. "They have all been here since January grinding and competing. It's a good situation because it's the first time since I've been the head coach, we have three guys that we can win with. I'm excited about that. Obviously, one of them is going to run out there when we play. We practice every day, we grade everything, and sooner or later, we will have an endpoint and this is where we will start. I think you will see us play more than one guy probably a lot as we go through the season as long as they continue to play well and I don't doubt they will."
