Seth Beer named 1st team All-American |

Seth Beer was named first-team All-American by D1 Baseball on Wednesday.
"Beer earned legendary status as only a freshman for the Tigers, while adding to his impressive totals his last two seasons with the program," D1 Baseball said. "This year, the hard-hitting slugger hit .301 with 11 doubles, 22 homers and 54 RBIs, while also walking a whopping 54 times. He also had a 1.098 OPS, capping off an illustrious career at Clemson." The standout performer paced the ACC in home runs (22) and slugging percentage (.642) this season and ranked second on the team in batting average (.301) and RBIs (54) last season. The Suwanee, Georgia product has hit 56 home runs and totaled 177 RBIs over 188 games as a Tiger. He won the Dick Howser Trophy for the nation’s best player as a freshman in 2016, when he hit .369 with 18 home runs, 70 RBIs and a .700 slugging percentage. Beer was drafted 28th overall in the first round by the Houston Astros and signed for $2.25 million.
