Playing time breakdown: Tigers reward extra snaps with production in big win

by - Staff Writer -

Another road trip, another bench cleared for Clemson and the Tigers take a seasoned roster into the final quarter of the regular season.

Clemson has played its whole 72-man travel roster in each ACC road trip so far and 58 members of that group played double-digit snaps in the 59-10 beatdown of Florida State.

Through eight games, 44 players have seen 100 or more snaps, while only two Tigers have averaged over 50 snaps a game (Mitch Hyatt - 57; John Simpson - 56).

The productivity down the depth chart was a mark of the blowout away win.

DE Justin Foster posted five tackles - 2.5 for loss - in 20 snaps, DT Albert Huggins put up three tackles and a sack in 30 snaps, DE Xavier Thomas totaled three tackles, two TFLs and a sack and LB Chad Smith tallied four stops (1 for loss) in 26 snaps on the defensive side. T.J. Chase's catching a 5-yard TD, Adam Choice taking in a 15-yard score and big-play efforts from Justyn Ross (1 catch for 41 yards) and Diondre Overton (two catches for 75 yards) marked the offensive side of things.

Taking a wider look at the participation report against FSU and on the season:
