Playing time breakdown: Depth showcased on defense going into title game

by - Staff Writer -

Another comfortable win on the big stage meant minimal effect on the heavy rotation Clemson’s used this season - even down three regular contributors due to suspension.

Senior defensive tackle Albert Huggins stepped in for a career-high 45 snaps, which was his most since a start versus Florida State last year (40). Reserves Nyles Pinckney (15) and Jordan Williams (11) also saw double-digit snaps.

At cornerback, starters A.J. Terrell and Trayvon Mullen topped the 60-play mark for a fourth-straight game, while senior Mark Fields did not play (reason unspecified postgame). Freshmen Mario Goodrich and Kyler McMichael each saw four snaps.

In the doing more with less category, defensive end Justin Foster logged four stops, 1.5 for loss with a sack, in his 10 snaps.

On the offensive side, freshman receiver Justyn Ross posted a game-high six catches for 148 yards and two touchdowns with the sixth-most snaps of his position group (26).
