Jeff Scott named ACC recruiter of the Year

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson had a tremendous 2018 recruiting cycle with the nation's No. 6 overall recruiting class.

One of the reasons for their recruiting success is co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Jeff Scott who was recently named 247Sports' Recruiter of the Year in the ACC.

Scott was the primary recruiter for offensive tackle Jordan McFadden, kicker BT Potter, defensive tackle Josh Belk, and receivers Derion Kendrick and Justyn Ross.

Credited with recruiting 5-star D-ends Xavier Thomas and K.J. Henry, as well as tight end Braden Galloway, tight ends coach and special teams coordinator Danny Pearman checked in at No. 31 in the 247Sports rankings. Brent Venables also made the top-100 (86; Primary or secondary recruiter on 4-star DB Mario Goodrich, 4-star DE Justin Mascoll, 4-star DT Darnell Jefferies and 4-star LB Jake Venables).

The Tigers signed 17 prospects during the 2018 cycle while 12 of them were rated four stars or higher by the recruiting service.
