Clemson senior forward Donte Grantham suffered a season-ending knee injury during Saturday's game with Notre Dame. After the injury prognosis was announced Sunday, Grantham received a number of encouraging messages on social media, including across rivalry lines.

South Carolina Gamecocks coach Frank Martin reached out to Grantham Monday morning.

"My heart goes out to you," Martin said on Twitter. "U have worked your tail off & it's not supposed to (be) like this. However, remember there is always a plan. Keep the faith and keep leading your team."

Grantham responded shortly after.

"Thank you!! Appreciate it a lot! Just gotta stay tough and like you said," Grantham said, "continue leading my team."

Grantham thanked those who reached out to him on Sunday, while also encouraging fans to stick with the No. 18 Tigers, which improved to 16-3 and 5-2 in ACC play on Saturday:

The knee injury ended Grantham's college career, while in the midst of a career season. Grantham averaged 14.2 points (second on the team), 6.9 rebounds (second on the team) and 2.4 assists (third on the team) over 19 games this season.
