Duke loses starting safety for season-ending injury |
The Blue Devils won't be close to 100 percent healthy heading into their showdown with No. 2 Clemson.
Duke's junior safety Dylan Singleton is out for the season with a broken left ankle injury he suffered during the first half of Saturday's 42-35 win against North Carolina. The junior underwent surgery on Sunday and will more than likely miss the final two games and bowl season. He has started all 10 games this season and was the team's second-leading tackler with 73 stops. Other Duke defenders out for the season include cornerback Mark Gilbert (hip) and defensive lineman Edgar Cerenord (Achilles' tendon). Currently, Clemson is a huge 27-point home favorite against Duke.
