Clemson ranked in Top 2 of Athlon's Top 25 rankings |
The start of the football season is a few months away but Athlon Sports has
released their Top 25 rankings for 2018. Alabama was ranked in the No. 1 spot followed by Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, and Michigan.
"Clemson has been a model of consistency since 2011. The Tigers have won at least 10 games every year during that span and have earned three consecutive CFB Playoff berths," Athlon Sports said. "There’s no reason to expect that to change in 2018. Dabo Swinney’s team represents the biggest threat to Alabama’s hopes of a repeat. Both sides of the ball are loaded, but the strength of this team is a defensive line that’s overflowing with talent." The ACC schools in the top 25 rankings were No. 2 Clemson, No. 6 Miami, No. 13 Florida State, and No. 16 Virginia Tech. Clemson's first road trip opponent Texas A&M made the list at No. 25.
