Clemson makes return to No. 2 in Coaches Poll

by - Staff Writer -

Clemson returned to where it started the season in Sunday’s Coaches Poll.

Upsets in recent weeks and dominant ACC efforts have cleared the way for a No. 2 spot in the poll behind Alabama. The new top-5 is Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, LSU and Michigan.

This week’s top-5 upset victim was former No. 2 Ohio State, which allowed four fourth-quarter touchdowns in a 49-20 loss at unranked Purdue.

NC State held on to a No. 22 ranking and Miami slipped back into the top-25, at No. 25, after a bye week.
