Clemson basketball notes

• Clemson will look for its second-straight win over Miami and its fifth-straight ACC win tonight at Miami.

• The Tigers’ head man will also look for his 165th career victory at Clemson. He is currently just 13 shy of tying

Cliff Ellis for the most in program history (177).

• Clemson’s defensive prowess has been on display over the last four contests. The Tigers in games against Wake Forest (37 points allowed) and at Georgia Tech (42 points allowed) allowed the fewest points in back-to-back ACC games in Clemson history (79 points).

• The Tigers held Virginia Tech to a season-worst 28.3 percent shooting from the field on just 15-for-53 shooting

from the floor. It’s also the worst shooting percentage during the Buzz Williams Era and the lowest since at least the 2009-10 season.

• Elijah Thomas swatted seven more shots against the Hokies - tying his career-best from Feb. 3 against Wake

Forest. Thomas has now blocked 19 shots in just the last three games and 25 over the last five contests.

• Thomas is 10th in program history with 158 career blocks at Clemson and also stands fourth in Clemson history with a 1.93 blocks per game average.

• Over its last three games, Clemson has posted 29 blocked shots, while allowing just 42 made field goals.

• Shelton Mitchell had a stretch this season (from Dec. 18 to Jan. 26) where he was 5-for-32 from 3-point range. In just his last four games, Mitchell is 12-for-21, including a career-high five made against Virginia Tech (Feb. 9).

• Marcquise Reed stands 22nd on the all-time scoring list. Reed now has 1,259 points in his Clemson career.
