Clemson University announces changes to schedule on opening gameday

by -

Clemson University announced some changes to its academic schedule on Aug. 29 in coordination with the Tigers' football opener with Georgia Tech that Thursday evening.

Here is what Clemson sent out on Wednesday:

Students

There will be no in-classroom instruction (including laboratory and studio courses) on August 29 at any Clemson University location including main campus, the Advanced Materials Research Lab (Anderson), CU-ICAR (Greenville) and CURI (Charleston) among others. For courses that faculty decide to hold as eLearning on this date, students will receive detailed instructions from their instructors on how to access the eLearning platform and specific details will be included in course syllabi.

Faculty

Faculty are encouraged to use this planned eLearning day as an opportunity to test online instruction tools as part of the university’s focus on business continuity planning. Clemson Computing and Information Technology (CCIT) is developing detailed instructions and specific language to assist in utilizing available resources for online instruction, and details will be forthcoming prior to the end of the spring semester.

Staff

August 29 is now designated as a university holiday, replacing the previously announced Monday of Fall Break (Oct. 14). The updated university holiday schedule for staff can be found here. Please note: essential personnel should speak with their supervisor to coordinate schedules as with any other university paid holiday.

Football gameday parking will begin on Clemson’s main campus at 8 a.m., as it would on a normal Saturday gameday. Any transportation schedule changes, including CATBus and TigerTransit, including any changes effecting Clemson Bridge students, will be announced in the coming weeks.
