teams..it matters where you are in these early polls. For instance when Clemson got beat by Pitt we were #1 but had we been ranked 10th we would've dropped to probably 17-19 with no hopes of getting back in the playoff hunt. But b/c we were 1st at the time we dropped to 3 or 4. And then with wins in the conference championship we're back to 2nd.

a top 15 team losing to Pitt or Syracuse is a ton different than a top 3 team losing to Pitt/Cuse. Plus if you're top3 you've usually built up the cred to deserve that ranking. Which that cred helps when these committee members vote on these teams.

ITs how BAMA got into the playoff last year. Cred.

Who cares about what UGA thinks about Clemson or any other team. They play the coots before they ever even get a chance to play us. They should worry about those yard buzzards more than what early season rankings are. The coots aren't even ranked, and they believe they are going to kick them biotch dogs to sleep!!!:)

I like being #2 so we can continue the streak of ending the season ranked higher than we started. If we were ranked #1, that wouldn't be possible.

Sometimes I’d rather not be ranked until it counts, but when it comes to recruiting it’s good exposure & necessary to sell the caliber of the program.
