Question about YouTube TV.

Aug 24, 2019, 2:05 PM

I’ve decided to give YouTube TV a try. I have 1 smart tv and 2 additional regular flat screen TVs in the house. The smart tv looks like it already has a YouTube TV app on the home screen but the other 2 TVs do not.

What do I need to do on all TVs in order to watch YouTube TV? I assume that I may only need to sign up on the YouTube TV app that’s already on the smart tv to watch it, but that I may need something like a fire stick for the regular TVs to work since they don’t show an app but this is just a guess on my part because I really don’t know anything about it.

Can anyone that has YouTube TV help me out with this?

Good guess... you just need one of those streaming devices

can 1 streaming device work for multiple TVs?

What’s the best way to set up the device?

Go with Roku. Amazon (Fire Stick) and Google (YouTube TV) have been feuding and only recently kissed and made up. Amazon says they're going to put the TYTV app on Fire TV but it's not there yet. You can get there but it's convoluted.

On your smart TV you'll set up an account with login for YTTV. Once you have that you can log in on your Roku TV's with the same account. You can have all 3 TV's okaying YTTV at the same time.

Yes. One Roku per TV that's not a smart TV with the app.***

What are the limitations on streams swing dispersed meaning some in house but one in a different city when traveling?

@TigerHawk76 what is the best roku streaming stick or are they all about the same?

Regular TVs need a fire stick or a roku or something of

that nature. Hook them up to the TV and the wifi, install the YouTubeTV app on them and then you will be asked to verify that device by entering a code online. That's pretty much it.

Chromecast works well. You can stream content from your phone, tablet or computer to your TV.
