The dude made war hawks seem like pet canaries. He scared the crap outta me because he pretty much wanted to shoot everybody.

I'm all for a robust military and taking no crap from anybody - I'd have personally confronted China about their buildup of island fortifications in the South China Sea, and if they want a war over it, hey, I'm good with that - and I definitely could have been convinced that bombing Iran's nuclear program was a necessary thing - but overall this dude was just alarmingly trigger-happy, on most everything.

Trump actually isn't; he avoids actual conflict at pretty much all costs and even the Clintons were hawks in comparison, which is why I always thought Bolton and Trump were a strange marriage.

The only good thing about Bolton was, at least he knew stuff.

My fear is, what utterly unqualified bureaucratic incompetent is going to get elevated to take his spot? Because Trump does not suffer competent people who know stuff; they might tell him he's wrong.

Notice that oil dropped on the news? Somehow the sanctions on Iranian oil will be lifted to boost the economy heading in to 2020, Bolten had to go on that issue.

I was with you until your last paragraph. Totally unfounded and unnecessary.

From the outside, they were the perfect foils for each other. Trump's desire for all the world to love him balanced out by Bolton's desire to lay waste to all threats. Neither position ideal but somehow they kept each other in check.

I am not looking forward to seeing the sycophant that takes Bolton's place.

And on a serious note, does he have to fill the position?

Fox News liked Bolton at first, til they didn't

Sep 11, 2019, 9:21 AM

Bolton was one of the favorites at Fox, and probably why he got the job to begin with.

Then Tucker Carlson lobbied for his removal, and as we all know, the talking heads there seem to have some sway over DJT.

Why is Fox News the proxy HR firm for the Trump Administration?

Economics...no need for bullets/missiles. They have a lot of mouths to feed/minds to keep occupied. When that can't happen, stuff happens in the family.

Israel is the Iran foil. When push comes to shove, Israel won't be waiting on anyone's approval.

The US doesn't always have to be on the front line of issues...other than for PR purposes.
