I hear Clemson has "zero margin for error" alot

Oct 22, 2019, 1:19 PM

I guess here's a list of teams with less than zero margin for error:

Florida
Notre Dame
Auburn
Georgia
Oregon
Utah

Cause a 2-loss team has never gotten into the CFP.

Under the present format, there should never be a situation where any 2-loss team is included.

If they expand, then maybe, but not with four teams.

Two power 5 conference champions and Notre Dame all finish the season with 2 losses.

All runners-up to the 3 undefeated conference champions have 2 or more losses.

This is a very unlikely scenario, but it is one that involves a 2 loss team reaching the playoffs.

Agree there could be, just saying there shouldn’t be.***

It isn't impossible, just highly unlikely! But old Herbie

was sure pushing for two-loss UGA to be in last year. And I assume he wanted them in over one loss conference champ Oklahoma!

Yes ... I'm not saying it IS impossible, just saying

Oct 28, 2019, 7:11 PM

... that it SHOULD be impossible.

And then you have teams with zero margin for

correctness.

Did you ever hear that "alot" is actually two words? a lot

I disagree with the assessment that we have no room for error. We have made plenty of errors this year and are still undefeated. Louisville had zero room for error. UNC had zero room for errors. We don't.

a 1-loss SEC champ would get the nod over a 1-loss ACC champ

Oct 23, 2019, 3:54 AM

this year, so at least some of the teams on our list do not have less margin of error than Clemson.

And in that scenario, they should. There is no rational

Oct 23, 2019, 10:46 AM

argument that could be made to select the ACC Champ over the SEC Champ in that particular scenario. That is why we (Clemson) must not lose, and put ourselves into that possible scenario.
