Is hilarious. The prominent, emphasized S does make it look like Stanford.

Probably why they’ve switched more to the wolf...?

I have also confused it for the "S" for Syracuse.

Obviously Syracuse S is orange and NC State is red, but when they are small it's sometimes not clear. The block S shape is very similar.

The red block S is bland and unmarketable . . . They once had a "diamond emblem" which was different and recognizable:
