different metrics?

During the BCS years SOS was paramount in determining the top 25 teams. The SEC began the season with what, 10+ teams and rode the SOS horse into the ground throughout the entire season. One would lose and it was a 'good loss.' Week after week winners of SEC matchups would move steadily toward the top of the polls. At the end of the season when the rival games were played the winners and losers of those matches would swap places. Often they were ranked consecutively in the polls.

Oh, ESPiN still talks SOS about everybody except the SEC. When it comes to talking about the SEC the magic word is 'Eyetest.' Somehow SOS never seems to be part of the conversation. Oh they'll throw in SOR or FPI which is related to final game scores but I haven't heard one word about Bama's SOS.
