Manny Diaz named HC Miami but was...

Dec 31, 2018, 8:40 AM

.... HC of Temple just 17 days before Richt resigned. Guess that sucks for Temple to be "siked"

basically keeping the same staff just not the lead recruiter in Mark Richt. Unless Diaz is some recruiting guru this was dumb. And i've never heard of him as a recruiting guy. I thought they'd go out and go full bore into new blood and get a recruiting/offense guy. Its they go get their old defensive coordinator who was half responsible for their ineffectiveness.....right.

I thought the Canes wanted to be back in the national picture. So why not make Dino Babers tell them no.

I'm sure there are big changes coming on the Miami staff

Richt's unwillingness to fire assistants, including his son Jon, is likely the reason he retired.

Both the Richt hire and this one seemed to be the obvious choices, but that doesn't mean good ones.

I've never gotten the idea that The U was a booster-driven school, for the AD to be bending over in loyalty like this. Am i wrong?

I'm thinking that the lesson the AD learned from the Al Golden debacle was the wrong one. They think they need a coach the kids will play hard for. I think they need kids that will play hard for a coach, and their team. But, hey, those good kinda kids are probably already being recruited to Clemson and wouldn't be nearly as interested in wearing the U.

It does but on the other hand Miami has to pay them $4 mil***

More of the same for Miami.
