So let's talk the national address

I didn't see anything ground breaking. He stopped short of declaring a national emergency. He backed away from the terrorist assertion. Him reading off of a teleprompter was difficult to watch. You could tell he was wanting to interject a lot of extra stuff into it but kept on ######. Something is wrong with his right eye.
The Dems response was what we thought it was going to be. Shumer's look creeped me out. Nancy has big eyes.

I thought he did a good job.

Lots of his hyperbole and playing lose with facts, but what he began talking about I believe most people agree with. If he wants money for those items (technology, agents, etc.) then not many disagree with him. Then he said that he wanted an additional $5.7B for the wall. I was all like they $5.7B isn't going to go towards any of those other things? Was wondering if any money had been requested or approved for the earlier mentioned items.
The response was horrible.

The agreement is the border security part

the rub is the border wall part.
He can't move on without wall money. If he does he will seem weak. Hell he shut down the government over it.
Dems can't give him wall money or Trump will win.
I don't see this resolving anytime soon.

Pelosi looked plastic and Schumer looked scary. not a good

look for the Dems. Trump looked like controlled Trump.
Dems message was inconsistent...a border fence is amoral but security is necessary?
Trump's message was meaningless.
There is a clear deal to be had. Wall for DACA but the pelosites and schumerites clearly side with the rabid anti-trumpists over the "Dreamers"

Dems will not do a wall. Period. They can say what they want

but the moment trump gets money for a wall, he won.
They can spin it however they want, but wall money would be a clear cut win for Trump and ensure his second term. They won't budge on that.

got it.
actually already knew it,
The Dems are going to lose this one. Their past words PROVE that their only reason for opposition is to oppose Trump.

a wall. I doubt he budges either.
But, what you're saying is the democrats are putting politics over people (dreamers, federal employees, etc...). too bad the media is on their side

the wall is ########. We all know its ########. There are other ways to effectively police the border that aren't so ####### retarded as building a wall at the edge of our country like we live in terrordome.
But yes, both sides are playing politics. And from the democratic perspective, beating Trump is more important for those people than ending the shutdown, and to be fair, beating Pelosi by getting his wall, from Trump's perspective, is more important than ending the shutdown.

It seemed like a Saturday Night Live skit when he was talking about how much he cared looking into they eyes of immigrants etc etc. He was trying to act all soft and caring when that is the polar opposite of how he has spoke in the past. It was such an odd speech.
