Do away w/some effing committee picking the teams. Have a set win/loss deal that gets you in or keeps you out.

How would that possibly work? If you set a baseline number of wins and losses to get in that would mean the number of eligible teams would be variable and strength of schedule would no longer matter. If you only took conference champs then that would require realignment if it was open to P5 teams or if all the FBS conference champs got in then it would require bye weeks and a way to determine which teams would play who which in turn would once again necessitate a committee of some sort to figure that part out.


There is simply no possibly way to completely eliminate the use of a committee or polls of some sort.

I'm even more convinced now that two SEC teams in the playoffs in consecutive years will create a firestorm, originating in the Big 10 or both.

Idealistically, it should be the four best, but this is about perception. And if a perceived bias toward any one conference arises, there will be trouble...big trouble.

Of course, this Bama/Georgia game isn't over yet, so time will tell.
