Anthony "Booger" McFarland

When he came to ESPN/ABC - it took me a minute (like a month or more) to like him. He was awkward doing the TV analyst thing, but once settled in, I thought he offered pretty good insight.

I know it's a big "brand thing" for him (the nickname Booger). He even takes the "Booger-mobile" on location to certain events.

The name "Booger" goes back to his childhood (his mom gave it to him), so I guess it's not going away - but I wish it would. Not really arguable - it's.....gross.
If he could just switch to "Tony" or "Anthony." Not likely.

I always feel bad for his fellow announcers who have to go to him with a serious question: "Let's look at the game-deciding play tonight. BOOGER - suppose you break down this interception that won it for the Patriots. Would you say that was the biggest PICK ever BOOGER?"

Very good in the studio. His takes were solid and unabridged.

In the booth, he tries too hard because it's not his natural place.
