Just a thought on Elevation

Nov 10, 2018, 10:06 AM

Clemson is almost 600ft higher in elevation than Chestnut hill, MA. Pretty sure higher elevation is cold also, just a thought.

Re: Just a thought on Elevation- so Trevor Lawrence in CU

would be about 650 feet taller than Doug Flutie in Chestnut Hill. ;)

Plus 1 74tiger! We can just run TL up the middle

600 feet is nothing. It’s going to be cold and windy there

There's something in these hills.

Every 1000 feet in elevation averages about 5 degrees in temperature decline. Therefore, Clemson is usually about 3 degrees cooler than Charleston and 10 degrees warmer than Caesars Head.....

Winter is much colder in Clemson than Charleston than 3 degrees.

Yep, Charleston is kept a bit warmer in winter due to proximity to the ocean. I should have used an inland town of slight elevation like Lake City at 60 feet elevation instead of Chucktown....

You must have the confuses, on Tnet we don't like no fancy scientific facts. We never let facts get in the way of of our opinions. ; )

I lived in Cedar City Utah which was 6,000 feet and it was always a good 15 degrees cooler than in St George which was only 45 mins down the interstate but 3000 feet lower

After practicing in thin air at an elevation of 700 feet, we should play like superhero Power Rangers with all tha extra oxygen in Boston at an elevation of 100 feet. ;)

Hot, thin, humid air vs cool, dense air. This better "density altitude" is going to give us much better performance.

I don't see a problem.

Wow

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Don’t try to dispel the myth that weather in the south is always hot and humid.

Nov 10, 2018, 11:46 AM

It helps further the storyline that our team won’t know what to do tonight in such cold weather.

Nevermind the fact that it is actually colder in Clemson today than in Boston, and the temps today are in line with the average temps for the entire month of January in Clemson.

Nope, those southern boys just won’t know what to do in this cold...

I was in the Valley for the 2013 game against GT. I can honestly say that I've never been as cold in my life as I was that night. I'm no stranger to cold weather, as it gets plenty cold with frigid wind chills here in northern VA, and I've also lived in Philly. By the way, Clemson scored 55 points that night. Boyd had 4 TD passes.

Sometimes the road to the truth is so elusive it's confusing and reality becomes illusion.
