How does the lunge feel about 'wood-look' plank tiles??

Oct 22, 2019, 8:32 AM

for flooring, not...walling...

Notes:
1. This would be for a finished walk-out basement (frequently in and out, yeah booiiiii) that's got moisture issues & tracking dirt in to contend with
2. There's no other real hardwood in basement, so no weird transitions
3. I don't really care what you think

Carpet is nasty. If you have to walk on something that isn't hard wood, tile or granite, get a rug. Throw it out when your spawn have soiled it.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Had all hardwood in the last house.

Oct 22, 2019, 8:46 AM

problem was it was so fugging loud because of the hard surface.

Hoping some high quality hardwood with the pad backing will help it not be so loud.

Also, refuse to put down rugs. Mother and Grandmoter will spend thousands on real hardwood then lay a rug over it.

The fugg?

Looks just like wood floors unless you're really paying attention. Not noticeably colder than hardwoods. Really great if you have dogs. I don't think it's added to any echoing issues down there or anything.

Oct 22, 2019, 9:30 AM

what, but nobody could seem to get the spacing in between the tiles right. Or they'd mess up the grain pattern, if you know what I mean, and it'd look all weird. Maybe that was just their luck though, for whatever reason it seemed more difficult than putting down traditional tile or something.

pulling them back up. Really could have been shiddy contractors. Of course, my dad was also checking behind them with digital calipers, so he could have been part of the problem.

You've got to have an eye for it for how it's flowing, I think unless you got the ones that look all the same there has to be some rhyme a reason to how you put them down. Of course, you'd probably have an issue with that SINCE YOUR RHYMES SUCK BALLSSSSSS

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Oct 22, 2019, 11:43 AM

Cork Flooring
Cork flooring is an excellent choice of flooring for pet owners. It resembles hardwood flooring and it is microbial.

What does this mean? If your pet has an accident on the floor, it is less likely to lead to the growth of bacteria, mold, and other harmful allergens.

So, while you want to clean it up quickly, if you don’t discover the accident right away, you can still remove it safely.

Another benefit of cork is that it absorbs sound. If you love your pet but are not a fan of the sound of it trapesing noisily through your house, cork is a good option.

Cork is also scratch-resistant. However, this doesn’t mean it won’t scratch, and keeping your pet’s nails trimmed is still a good idea.

Choose a lighter shade of cork flooring to minimize the look of scratch marks. And make sure to finish it with a tough, scratch-resistant finishing product.

While cork flooring is not entirely “pet-proof”, it is an option that provides a natural warmth similar to hardwood flooring, yet resists some of the elements that other floors are vulnerable to when it comes to pets.

with Lil Slac#2. I guess he was around 3, and decided to climb a step stool and try to pee in the kitchen sink....don't ask me why, just 3yr old stuff. It seemed to clean up OK. :)

Slac House was built in 1899 and apparently cork flooring in the kitchen was a thing back then on the gulf coast. Builders used it because it wasn't very combustible in the era of cast iron stoves. There are still a few houses in the 'hood that have the original cork.
