Clemson wasn't the toughest defense he's played.
This seems to have caused some what of an uproar and Clemson fans be lik
Last season I watched the Louisville / Houston game for whatever reason (maybe Im a Lulville fan; a sheep dressed in wolf's clothing). Maybe it was the only marquee game that week. IDK. But I recall Lavar having a horrendous night against Houston and thought Id look up the stats from the game. Now before you call me a Hesiman voting stat only looker, I did consider the fact that Lavar got somewhere around 190 yards after the score this week was 33-7 against Clemson. But if you look at the stats, Lavar appeared to have a tougher night, be it just slightly against Houston vs Clemson. Maybe it was a more frustrating night than tougher.
The final score against Houston was 36-10. At the end of the 3rd qtr the score was 31-7
The final score against Clemson was 47-21. At the end of the 3rd qtr the score was 33-7
What I don't recall is when/if Houston pulled their starters for the 4th qtr.
After the score was 33-7 Lavar has 204 passing yards and 23 rushing yards which gives him 113 passing yards in the 1st three qtrs and 41 rushing yards.
After the score was 31-7 against Houston Lavar had 45 passing yards and 5 rushing (this included a lot of TFL due to sacks). This give Lavar 166 passing yards and 28 rushing yards with 3 mins left in the 3rd qtr.
Houston sacked Lavar 11 times to Clemsons 4. And this may be the thing that Lavar remembers most about the defense that night against Houston
In conclusion, Lavar had a more frustrating night against Houston than he did against Clemson.
I believe we played smarter by not blitzing as much as we normally do, confusing the Lulville offensive game play and what they prepared for. We forced him to beat us with his arm, showing soft coverage. Do believe we are one of the toughest Ds in the nation but from Lavar's POV, Houston was the toughest D he's faced in college.

but why did you copy over Louisville's defense stats on our game instead of Clemson's?
Also, another stat that needs to be said....
In the Clemson game, the entire Louisville offense only rushed 27 times....2 more than Lamar tried himself alone in the Houston game.
