Obama declared 13 national emergencies. 11 still in effect.

Nothing new, or alarming folks. Unless, of course the media and their panel of “experts” tell you to feel outraged. Been an ongoing thing for every president all the way to the 60’s. All a matter of public record and easily searchable.

The problem isn't declaring a national emergency

Feb 15, 2019, 1:01 PM

It's declaring an emergency when there's clearly no "emergency" other than Congress not doing what you want.

^^^ exactly. An emergency when something happened

Feb 15, 2019, 1:06 PM

and money needs to be diverted quickly to an unforeseen circumstance.

Like Flint.

An emergency is not something we have hum hauled around for months and now that I can't get what I want I'm going around Congress to do it.

I like your funny words magic man

My problem is...

Feb 15, 2019, 1:08 PM

this is actually a more constitutional version of what Obama did with DACA and DAPA. But, of course, the only people who said anything about it were conservatives. You can see how that might make some people who would normally object to this decide not to say anything.

To be clear, the President has not declared

Feb 15, 2019, 1:14 PM [ in reply to ^^^ exactly. An emergency when something happened ]

a national emergency dealing with Flint, MI (nor has any other president).

Lol yeah 1000 illegal immigrants a day is not a security issue. American deaths caused by repeat illegal alien offenders, many having been deported for felonies that simply strolled right back in. Gimme a friggin break, there’s more news articles on these incidents than I can count.

I assume these were actual emergencies that required us to remove layers of bureaucracy to solve an actual crisis.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The outrage isn't going to be over just declaring

Feb 15, 2019, 1:05 PM

an emergency. The controversy is about what the topic of the declared emergency is.

Most of the emergencies that have been declared over the years are over topics that are relatively obscure for the general populace, so it nobody really cared.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They were also things that required an immediate response

Feb 15, 2019, 1:10 PM

And which didn't involve any opposition. As you pointed out, many have to deal with sanctions against foreign governments or dealing with foreign threats. So they weren't just obscure issues, they were uncontroversial issues "of emergence."

How is the water in Flint Michigan a national emergency?

Feb 15, 2019, 1:36 PM

Do we have national emergencies when hurricanes take out a coastline or the OBX?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This article is not accurate if it says that President Obama

Feb 15, 2019, 1:40 PM

declared a national emergency about Flint, MI.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He did declare it a state of emergency

a location, not for allowing the President emergency powers to do things.

Yes. Though the terms are getting mixed up here.***

I did quick google, and could not find when a hurricane

was ever declared a national emergency. Can you help me out with that?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It has never happened.***

This is insane, tribalist drivel.

Feb 15, 2019, 1:53 PM

Both parties are destroying liberty and as long as the other is doing it... its ok.

Both major party adherents are enemies of the Constitution. Essentially a coup to replace the laws with party control.
