Why don’t we TNetters want to

fire Batson anymore? I remember at one time there were daily calls to do just that... and then something changed and our S&C program seems to be the envy of the football universe. What happened? I’m certain it was discussed multiple times but I just don’t remember.

Makes perfect sense- players dedicated to excellence join a program known for high standards and then take a drug that can easily be detected and kicked off said team. I guess you’re pretty sure about this?

I think I saw your sarcasm and sarcasmeded back which caused you to complain... unless that was double secret sarcasm and I totally missed it. If so, I must say well played, sir.

one half the players in college football were stronger and the other half were weaker. Therefore there was no reason to waste time lifting weights when the time could be better spent practicing bubble screens.

Way back when, we did not have the two and three deep rosters to lean on. Our starters would be tired at the end of games...we naturally thought it was Batson's fault.
Once we started getting good 2nd and 3rd stringers, our players seemed to do better in the fourth quarter. And now, we don't even need any 1st or 2nd stringers in the fourth quarter.
Does this mean that Batson has not adequately prepared our players? Or is it just with the depth, his poor coaching does not show? I would say no! If he was doing a poor job, then I think you would see more injuries (like at the coots) of our players. And games like Aggies and Cuse last year showed that our starters are able to go into the fourth when needed, without any conditioning problems showing.
It just may be that Batson has become a better coach over the years! That is what I prefer to think!

He said himself in not so many words a few years ago that we started getting better players which improved the product on the field and the results and made it look like he was doing a better job, when in fact he's always been a great S & C coach. They don't keep you around 30 years if you suck. https://clemsontigers.com/staff/joey-batson/ Some of us fans wouldn't care if they were watching TV and eating popcorn during power hour if we're winning all the games.
It's kinda like the Prez. Of all the things the president has to be concerned about - foreign affairs, the environment, the basketball tournament, etc., the one thing the president seems to be judged on is the economy, which kinda makes sense since people need jobs and money to survive. For instance, it's why the elder Bush didn't get reelected in the early 90s bc of a recession, but Clinton was considered by many to be a great prez since the rest of the 90s had a strong economy.
