If TNET had their way

We would have either hired Will Wade or Shaka Smart.
I would rather have Brad than either one of those. Wade is a scumbag and Smart was a flash in a pan at VCU...
Wade: Obviously a cheating scumbag that's currently suspended at LSU.
Smart: Took over a successful Texas program that had been to the NCAA tourney 15 out of the last 16 years. His first year he went 20-13 and made the tourney. He then went 11-22 and they have been trash since. Good thing our AD doesn't read T-Net!!

Is Clemson more similar to VCU or Texas?
I would prefer to compare his results at a similar school versus trying to pretend that whatever someone does at VCU would automatically transfer in the same way to Clemson.

Walt was basically calling Scott Drew a #######, a coach who's been to the tournament 8 of the last 12 years with 2 elite 8s and 2 sweet 16s at Baylor.
But defends to the death a coach who's been twice in 9 years.

Shaka has taken his teams to the NCAA Tournament...

seven times in ten seasons.
If Brownell was a "flash in the pan" like Shaka Smart, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Ok let's see. Is it harder to go to the NCAA tourney at Clemson/Texas or VCU?
The year before Shaka got to VCU, they were 24-10 and conference champions.
This year, they are 25-7 and an 8 seed in the tournament.... They are 0-1 against ranked teams.
There's a difference in going to the NCAA in the NCAA than at VCU. BUt apparently you artards don't realize that.
Here's a quick note about their 4 coaches (all have had success) over the last 10+ years.
Anthony Grant: Went to the NCAA tourney 2 of 3 years at VCU. Hired at Bama. In 6 years he only made the tourney once and then he got fired. Now coaches at Dayton
Shaka Smart: Did extremely well at VCU and now is on the hot seat at Texas.
Will Wade: Currently under NCAA investigation.
Seems like a trend. You have success at VCU, then get hired at a larger school and fail.

is significantly better than what we have.
I'm not advocating for Shaka Smart but I do think he would have been a better choice than Brad Brownell.

He'd already seen what he’d be up against at Clemson.

Whoa there Tiger. I've been recommending Mark Few at Gonzaga for years, and the Zags are a #1 seed in the NCAAT. Maybe you've been reading the wrong t-net.

I’ve often thought we should hire Coach K.

He has a solid resume, and knows the area. Am I the only one who sees this?

No thanks I'll stick with Brownell. Someone who has only won 13 conference championships and 5 national championships at Duke would never be able to get Clemson to the tournament 2 times in 10 years with the limited resources he would have to work with.

Maybe someone should teach Brownell some of those chair throwing techniques to fire up the fan base every now and then.
