Who's Next ??

Jul 19, 2019, 3:36 PM

I know I'd like to see D Ngata get a scholarship, but this one that just opened up, will most likely go to a DB . Who ?

The 3 remaining uncommitted CB prospects that we have offered are Kelee Ringo, Henry Gray, and Ethan Pouncey. There was momentum early on with Gray, we’ll see if the coaches try to rekindle that relationship. We’re going to lose Terrell to the NFL, Kyler is transferring, and we only have Fred Davis committed.

Is DK staying on the defensive side of the ball ?

Could have bearing on it. Might of even had a bearing on Kyler's decision.

Think the DK pos/switch likely factored into his decision as incoming talent stacks up behind KM & (possibly the best athlete on the team)DK's move to CB; who then leapfrogged him & others in the unwritten depth chart over the course of a practice, probably jarred him. He may or may not have been aware of the staff's preferred body type in a CB-Long & lean-Terrell, Booth, Jones, Davis, Goodrich, & Raider Mullen. Could be outrecruiting the roster in areas.

If we project the CB depth for next year, we have DK, Goodrich, Sheridan, Booth, LeAnthony Williams (could also transfer), and Fred Davis. So, we’ll be looking at 5 or 6 CBs next year. I can see the coaches bringing in one more CB to go along with Davis.
